Hey Susan and Shannon,

This is my favorite render for you... at this point... i have not had much time to test how i would actually render this for you... i am working on the purse next. I know you want to put an actual page together but i am still developing a good technique for your project. This is not accurate in terms of color or composition, but i DO enjoy the brush work and i need time to explore this avenue. I hope this gives you an idea of how i would like to render each image - however the color might be more muted overall except for the focus of each page. At this point, it is merely a sketch render and not how i would set up the layout of the page yet.

Hey Susan and Shannon,

HERE ARE some INITAL STUDIES (1.5 days), just so you have an idea of where i am at and beginning to aim for.

These are my inital sketches for you to review and consider as a starting point but please wait until Saturday to see what i come up with before you decide anything. On Saturday, I expect to have the more defined character renderings (purse & girl) so you can see more finished versions of "look", color, and "style" that I initially propose. Then, so much can be done with Layout, but that is still down the road of process and schedule.

Again, I do "see" this story. This is really fun to work on as the story reminds me so much of my two younger sisters when i was younger and the story even jogs my memory of when they brought home my youngest sister for the first time (for some reason, i see green carpet !?!). I imagine this will do the same for a lot of parents who might read this to their kids. Well written. I read it over every night.

I will email/call you, after I post on Saturday(noon-Nov9th). Then, i will be hanging out with my sister who is flying in town to visit this weekend.
